I enjoy reading the Israel Bible. Since it was a bit heavy to hold I also got the kindle version of the Israel Bible. I was disappointed that I could not find a way to move from book to book in the Bible. I found it not usable at all. If it is ever upgraded and user friendly I would buy it again.

Interesting concept. The book reads from back to front to accommodate the Hebrew in the right column with the English on the left. It would be possible to learn to read Hebrew I suppose by using the juxtaposition. That might be beyond me. It is an interesting translation.

I give the printed version 5 stars but the lack of Hebrew in the kindle version is a major disappointment.

The Israel Bible is a real blessing! We are enjoying reading the Scriptures with their original meanings.And the commentaries on each page are interesting and helpful to us Christians wanting to know more about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Who is also our Loving Heavenly Father.

I like the foot notes at the bottom of the page, it gives more understand of history to the verse or chapter. It is easy to use, once you understand how the format of Jewish writings are laid out. The print is a bit light, so if the printer would put a little more ink on the page; it would be easier to read.

This Bible was a present for my 80 year old mother. She loved it because it has English and Hebrew side by side not that she can read Hebrew but she really thought that was cool.

When the cover is removed, you immediately feel the sacredness on another level.This is an excellent book of the Of the TaNaK (Torah, Neviim, Ketuvim) aka Old Testament.The best part in my opinion is that there is a commentary of one verse on almost every page that gives youa feel of what is the mindset of certain Rabbis, Sages, and Scribes that reflect the land or people of Israel.This has become an excellent resource for me for studying both the First Covenant and Renewed Covenant.aka Old Testament and New Testament.

The Bible was received in perfect condition, sealed in wrap, and packaged securely. The Israel Bible is an excellently done work and in my opinion is very informative.

Years ago, I stumbled into my dream job. The organization was horizontal, not hierarchical. Staff members were encouraged and we worked with PM's as a team. We enjoyed our jobs. We worked hard. We even laughed. Oh yeah, and the office was profitable as well. James Lewis shares this vision of Project Management. This takes up the first half of the book. It made me nostalgic for the dream job I had before the corporate headquarters "fixed it". (Result: out of an office of 15 - 20 people, at least 10 of them - scientists, engineers, and technicians - quit.)Too bad corporate America does not embrace Lewis' dream. The aversion to risk that has gripped corporations over the past 4 years has made an already restrictive environment even more so. It didn't and doesn't have to be this way.I will use this book to continue to increase my understanding of aspects of project management, such as Controls. These "nuts and bolts" of project management are in the 2nd half of the book. Lewis describes the point of controls quite well. He provides 3 different scenarios and their solutions.

I have used Dr, Lewis's book: Project Planning, Scheduling, and Control for many years as a class text for master degree courses at two universities. At the completion of the class, the students consistently list the book as the highest priority item in a list of "things done right" in class "lessons learned" evaluations. Dr. Lewis has written a classic. The book energizes students into wanting to learn project management in accordance with its friendly reading style. Dr. Lewis takes the reader through the process of project management using an approachable writing style that appeals to everyone. He makes a potentially dry topic interesting for all!

It’s not a bad book but I would say there are plenty others that are better. The author tends to go over concepts repetitively and it gets really boring to read after a whils.

I'm new at project management and I found the book quite helpful. I'm taking one star off for the proliferation of generic clip art and stock photos that add nothing to the book other than taking up a lot of space.

Needed this book for a Project Management course and I have to say it was just okay. I have read a few of Lewis's books and have felt the same way. Maybe it's me and I just cannot connect but it was really nothing special about it. However on the bright side I did get it for a decent price used.

I got more than what I paid for with this valuable text and reference. This is great for the desktop library and helps with the focus on creating win-wins with the little details of the managerial day. What a bargain :-) :-)

Purchased the book for my daughter (and myself as I lack understanding in the sport of field hockey). The book is well written and provides a clear explanation of the sport. I have found it to be very helpful to advance my knowledge. My daughter has enjoyed the book as it outlines various drills to improve her skill set. The drills are clearly outlined and very detailed with great visuals. She has been playing for 5+ years (club and local teams) and she indicated that this book has helped her. She also noted that this book will continue to be beneficial in the future as it is very comprehensive. Definitely would recommend.

A thorough guide starting from the beginning to cover sound basic skills through to some advanced play. It’s a good reference for applied technique for to assist coaches. Just taking on a coaching position at Club level this book has been very helpful for both myself and our new players, it is also very easy to understand.

Don't know anything about field hockey, this looks like an excellent book. Bought it for my daughter who would like to get into the sport as she gets into high school.

I purchased this book for my Granddaughter (Age16) who is exceptionally good at the sport. While still in the 10th grade, she was elevated directly to her High School's Varsity. When she entered the 11th grade, she became Co-Captain, although not a Senior. She has told me that the book was a great help, and that even with her current knowledge, she has picked up pointers that have helped her improve her game.

I played field hockey about 9 years ago and recently my arm has been slightly twisted to coach middle school hockey. I had forgotten all the basics of the game and this book is a quick to the point guide. I like the pictures it provides and the drills. My goalie coach who had never even seen a game before has been able to use the book and apply it to coaching my goalies. I definitly recommend this book whether you are a coach who is looking for a break down of skills or a player looking to improve your game.

This is one of the more balanced books on the topic of deliverance. Unlike some other authors who are more prone to attribute any human problem to the influence of some unholy spirit, the author points out the importance of discerning when the problem or a display of behavior is simply an expression of human emotions and the person may be purging his thoughts and feelings and when it may be influenced by spirits.He mentions how many people have caused damage to people who were already suffering by trying to exorcise demons from them, when people were just experiencing pain and grief and needed tender loving care and comforting. He also mentions cases where people have developed multiple personality disorder from abuse and again how they are in need of healing and therapy, and not of exorcising demons.He points out that despite the clarity of all the Scriptural passages about deliverance, many theologians and preachers profess a profound skepticism as to whether we should take accounts of people being tormented by evil spirits in a literal way.They explain their position by saying that "people in Jesus' day believed in evil spirits as do primitive people today." He gives as an example one of more popular Bible commentators, William Barclay, who states that "demon possession is a delusion and that people are cured through the power of suggestion".Barclay says: "It may seem fantastic to us, but the ancient peoples believed explicitly in demons ... To this day anyone can think himself into having a pain or into the idea that he is ill; that could happen even more easily in days when there was much of what we would call superstition, and when man's knowledge was more primitive than it is now. Even if there are no such things as demons, a man could be cured only by the assumption that for him at least the demons were the realest of things."The author ads how psychiatrists and medical doctors seem to be more open to healing prayer than the clergy and mentions a meeting called by a large Western hospital which has a department for religion and health. They invited a selected group of medical doctors and clergy to a meeting to discuss the topic of healing through prayer and all but one physicians responded, 80 percent of them came, while barely 50 percent of the clergy responded, and less than 30 percent of them attended the meeting.The author quotes from Luke 9:1-2 "When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick.""Most people who need deliverance, the author states, "seem to be good people, not evil people. Most of them are Christians and go to church on Sunday, but in some part of their lives they are not free. They will ell you that they seem compelled to act in ways contrary to their innermost desires."Among different levels of oppression, the author lists temptation, physical attacks or obstructions, emotional oppression, and adds demonization - the latter with possible symptoms such as bodily contortions, change in voice, change in facial expression, unpleasant smells and a sensation of cold. When the Holy Spirit is present we often experience heat.The author points out that we must ask what is causing the symptoms, a psychiatric disorder or a demon. "Rolling eyes, voice changes, twitches, or marked shifts in facial expression could indicate either ... Exorcists likely have not known enough about MPD to tell the difference ... Christians who have had years of experience in deliverance work say they knew all along that certain entities seemed like demons initially but didn't respond to exorcism like demons do."He says that the most accurate way of diagnosing the presence of an evil spirit is through the gift of discerning spirits. The gift enables us to distinguish whether a person is influenced by the Holy Spirit, natural human, psychological or created causes, or an evil spirit. Some may have a strong gift of prophecy, healing, or discerning of spirits but contaminate it, if they are immature in its use, with elements of their own prejudice, self-interest or religious background. Zealous Christians who have gotten into deliverance have usually received insufficient instruction or oversight to direct a balanced ministry. Some ministers of deliverance know little about psychology and are unable to tell whether a person needs inner healing or deliverance or both.For those who want to practice deliverance, the author suggest "If you have not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, study about it, then pray to receive it." The empowering of the Holy Spirit enables us to minister deliverance more effectively. In addition, it brings with it those charismatic gifts essential for a fully rounded deliverance ministry - gifts like healing and the discerning of spirits."Among different kinds of spirits, he author says that the demon's name is especially important because it indicates its nature and purpose in lie He lists different kinds of spirits like spirits of sin, spirits of the occult, spirits of trauma, ancestral or familiar spirits.While some exorcists send spirits to the abyss, the author suggests sending them to Jesus Christ to deal with them in His Justice and mercy, pointing out that even Archangel Michael sent the spirits to God, as the vengeance and judgment belong only to God.In defense from curses, the author suggests a prayer "Lord Jesus, I ask You to protect our family (whom I mention by name) from sickness, from all harm and from accidents. If any of us has been subjected to any curses, hexes or spells, I declare these curses, hexes or spells null and void in the name of Jesus Christ. If any evil spirits have been sent against us, I decommission you in the name of Jesus Christ and I send you to Jesus to deal with as He will. Then, Lord I ask You to send Your holy angels to guard and protect all of us."The author deals an assortment of remedies from oppression, depending on the possible cause and ranging from repentance, renouncing associations with whatever caused the oppression, and he even shares prayers for blessing oil, salt and water to anoint oneself or sprinkle them around the premises for purification and protection.Here's a prayer for blessing the salt: "God's creature, salt, I sat out the demon from you by the living God, by the true God, by the holy God, by God who ordered you to be thrown into the water-springs by Eliseus to heal it of its barrenness. May all evil fancies of the foul fiend, his malice and cunning, be driven afar from the place where you are sprinkled. And let every unclean spirit be repulsed by Him who is coming to judge both the living and the dead and the world by fire. Amen.Almighty, everlasting God, we humbly appeal to your mercy and goodness to graciously bless this creature, salt, which you have given for mankind's use. May all who use it find it a remedy for body and mind. And may everything that it touches or sprinkles be freed from uncleanness and any influence of the evil spirit, through Christ our Lord. Amen."He recommends praying and fasting for deliverance, and offers elaborate instructions for preparing a deliverance team and what to do in different cases.

Francis MacNutt approaches deliverance in a reasonable and spiritually-mature manner, as one who has a significant history and practice of deliverance and healing ministry. MacNutt is thoroughly scriptural and Christ-centered in his approach to deliverance. He does not present himself as a super-minister who stands above others in ministry, but he sees himself as part of the larger Christian Body and as one who needs others.MacNutt emphasizes the reality of what we see in Scripture, especially in the gospels and in Jesus' own ministry, in relation to deliverance of demons. He shows how the deliverance ministry is as essential today as it was then and the church needs to be the experts in it. There is plenty of evidence in this book that demonic oppression is active in our cultures and world today.The main contribution of this book is a textbook approach to guiding people in the deliverance ministry. MacNutt gives readers good instruction to inform the ministry. I think he could emphasize more than he does how important a person's own devotional life is when even thinking about deliverance ministry, and this includes the necessity of being plugged into a Biblical Christian community for support and protection.MacNutt also does very well to highlight the relation of demonic oppression/possession to emotional and mental wounds that require inner healing. He advises ministers to be especially careful to not treat mental/physical/emotional wounds as demonic oppression. He repeatedly emphasizes the need for discernment and humility in this work.There is always the danger of people getting obsessed with demons and giving them too much respect and power or in assigning every ailment or sinful habit to demonic influence. MacNutt advises readers to keep a careful balance and to be led by the Spirit in discerning demonic presence.This would be a recommendation for training prayer ministers and as an essential book in one's library. MacNutt offers other suggestions resources.

Interesting enough, I was surprised at some of the things that took place. He describes how in India a possessed woman took on the persona of an Indian deity. Apparently some of these deities are really demonic. (Many would disagree with that.)The deliverance ministry is not exactly exorcism, and he describes how groups pray for someone who is influenced by the demonic. Making a distinction between oppression and possession, McNutt says that many oppressions and other problems need to be prayed over, and may not need an exorcism if caught in time.

This is an excellent textbook on Deliverance from evil spirits. The most important chapter is the last one on the interview of Fr. Rufus Pereira by Francis Mc Nutt. Fr. Rufus Pereira was the President of the International Association of Exorcist. He claimed to have exorcised over 20,000 Evil Spirits. Most in India. Some of these I know have been and are being worshipped as gods and goddesses as most who do this do not know the way the truth and life. Pretty good guide all in all. Compact sized so it's easy to carry and fit in a day pack and well laid out so it's easy to look up birds. It groups the birds by color so you don't have to go through the entire book to find the bird you're looking for. It gives plenty of info on each bird and at over 300 pages it's very complete. Besides Delaware and Maryland it includes the Chesapeake Bay and DC areas.

Update: 4-25-2018 Our copy is still going strong, pages are intact. The identical boy triplets are now 9 years old and big sister is 12. The book has served them all. Also used by most people who visit. Everyone loves how easy it is to use. It is not a book for extensive research, but it does identify birds so that you can look them up. Too many guides are written for people who are really into birds and are impossible for those of us who have a casual interest in birds to use.******************************************************************************************************************Most guides have so many entries that it is impossible for a beginner to use. My 6 year old grandaughter has been easily able to identify birds coming to my bird feeder with this book.As many have stated, it is organized simply by color with separate entries for male and female when needed.A few improvements would have made it a 5 star.-One of my neighbors was unable to find a bird that nests in his yard here in Central Maryland. It simply is not there. Missing a few birds?- So many entries for brown birds. Needs to be a way to break the category down more. Perhaps all brown, brown and white, etc.- Not sure why the hawks are listed so far apart in the book. red shouldered on p.179, red-tailed on 191.- Would be nice to have more views of the birds from different angles.

Great book for birdwatchers. It was a must have for our trip. We are all interested in bird watching and discovering some that we have not seen before is a wonderful feeling. This book was informative and very helpful. It is an excellent field guide for bird watching in Maryland and Delaware. I would make this purchase again if I needed another one.

This is absolutely the best bird book for people who can't remember scientific names or can't get too up close to the birds. I just wanted to find out what was eating my birdseed and hopefully attract more.It is laid out by first locating the bird by color,(pages are tabbed by color) then as the size of the bird increases. If the female is a different color than the male, she will get her own page with an inset and page number of the male,(and the males page will have an inset of the female.) There is a small map showing winter/summer habitats and helpful tips from the author on each description page. I bought the Georgia book for myself then got the Maryland one for my mom. The book is a little larger than a paperback, which makes it easy to haul around but in no way detracts from the full page pictures.

We love the way this book is organized --- when you see a bird, you look in the section that represents the primary color on the bird -- the photos have been great and we've been able to identify every bird that has come to our feeder this year. Great resource for identifying birds. Bought the SC version for my dad and he loves his, too.

I am new to bird watching, and basically purchased this book to help me identify the birds that are visiting my bird feeder. It is a great size, smaller than the average book you buy, and I love how it is organized. All you have to do is flip to the section of the appropriate color that is most dominant in the bird! I also like how the femals that are different, are listed seperately so that you can look them up easily as well. Birds that have different plumage during different seasons are also listed seperately so that it is always easy to look up a bird by its color. I have yet to know if it includes most birds, but so far...I haven't yet come across one I couldn't find in the book. I would recommend this book, at least for beginners! (more advanced birdwatchers might think differently)...

I love this book primarily because of the way it is organized, by the colors of the birds, and the great photos. We keep this by the window to identify birds at our feeder. I love that when a male and female have very different colorings, they are in the book twice with each gender indexed by its colors. This is the book you want by your window to help you identify birds with your kids.
