Everything about the "in death" novels is quality writing and defies genre labeling.From the relationship between Dallas and Rourke, the mystery/thriller storyline, an extremely strong female role model, the secondary characters, the setting, well, everything, you just can't wait for the next one. Robb shows that a woman can be strong and capable despite soul crippling events in her life. I have a mantra, "just step over it and move on." Eve Dallas personifies this. It doesn't mean you never think of it or that you forget but life goes on.Dallas "stands for the dead," they are hers, no matter who or what they were in life. To her it's almost a sacred trust and she is uncompromising in her pursuit of justice for those in her care.I think even most men would like these books, if for no reason than to see how women would like to be treated.Read, enjoy, repeat.

I was rather uncomfortable with the overall subject matter of this book which centers around the use of an extremely toxic “super date rape drug” used by two young men in a game...of all things. The atrocity is compounded by the fact that none of the victims survive.That being said, this is a very well written work with excellent plotting. The interaction between Lt. Eve Dallas and the rest of the regulars who make up the cast of these novels is excellent. This is about the 46th novel in this series and with the notable exception of a couple of previous entries; this is an excellent read which moves the entire Eve Dallas sage forward.For me one of the high points in this novel was the verbal interaction between Eve and her sidekick, Peabody. The conversation was highly entertaining and these verbal exchanges are some of the best examples of this authors work. The author also did a wonderful job of making the evil guys extremely loathsome in several different ways. I love to see really disgusting bad guys get what is coming to them.This was a good read and an excellent addition to this series.

Eve had met her previously and had given her clinic a half million dollars from an account Roarke had set up in Eve's name.Anyway, the investigation quickly shows that two men are slipping drugs to a date - drugs that make them sexually aroused and that lowers their normal inhibitions. Then the women are raped. The first time, the killer didn't actually intend to kill; he accidentally overdosed her, then threw her body off the balcony.For the men - boys, really, just 22 years old - it's a game for points and bragging rights, which makes Eve angry and determined to take them down.All the gang is here in this one. Charles Monroe and Dr. Dimatto hit it off. MacNab and Peabody settle their differences and agree to date exclusively. Eve gets rundown and sick before the case wraps up, so Roarke calls Summerset in to dose her with his special formulas. Of course she fights it and Roarke has to forcibly administer the meds - like a recalcitrant 2-year-old.I love the mutual friendly/hostile relationship with Eve. They trade barbs because their personalities and egos won't allow them to admit to kindly feelings for each other.Commander Whitney takes a personal, hands-on interest in the case, going into the field with Eve and her team.And in the end, after both killers are disposed of, Eve and Roarke her off for a 2-week vacation in Mexico.Some great dialogue as always. Eve and Peabody:"Amused, Eve started the scan again. “I was single a hell of a lot longer than I’ve been married. I never stooped to cyber-world.”"Big deal when you’re tall and thin with jungle-cat eyes and have a sexy little dent in your chin.”"You coming onto me, Peabody?”"My love for you is a fearsome thing, Dallas. Eve's and Roark's relationship: feisty, respectful, hot, tempestuous, nerve-wracking, vulnerable and human. Eve's crew: flawed people with hearts big enough to face the horrors of homicides and never stop stopping the bad people. Writing: bang on and such a relief to read a book with little to no English grammar issues. Eager anticipation fully satisfied when I tuck myself away from reality for a while and get lost in the travails of 2059 Earth.

A cute and very entertaining romance. Once their marriage begins, they both struggle with adjustments between two different personalities and how to make their relationship work.

Jake Norris and Juniper (JJ) Johnson are opposites who decide to take a relationship to help each other. I like this couple together they balance each other well. Bonnie R. Paulson can you please write another book with more about them!

This is a nice beach romance about accepting each other without change.I loved the storyline and the interesting characters.This book is recommended for those who love sweet romance.

This was a good entertaining story with good characters and a great beach town. This is a sweet, clean romance.

Juniper (JJ) and Blake seemingly are polar opposites. She may teach etiquette but when on her own she is bohemian and spontaneous at heart. Blake may have a bad boy reputation but he is very controlled and conservative to the point he has a paid double to maintain his bad boy image. Bonnie R. Paulson does a great job making their meeting and subsequent actions seem reasonable. Sometimes people are not really what even they think they are.

Such a fun book that shows opposites do attract. Married almost at first sight these two drive each other crazy, then crazy in love.

About the Author

Nikolaus von Vormann started as a cadet in the Royal Prussian Army in 1914. He rose through the ranks during the 1920s and 30s, and was a Colonel by 1940. About the Author

Kari Dunn Buron taught in K-12 with students on the autism spectrum for 30+ years. She developed an Autism Spectrum Disorders Certificate program for educators at Hamline University in St. Paul, MN and has done volunteer work specific to autism in Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, Tanzania and Ghana. In 2003, Kari received a Self-designed Bush Leadership Fellowship that allowed her to spend a year interviewing and working internationally with a number of scientists and researchers in the area of Social Cognition, Education and Autism with a focus on challenging behaviors. Kari is the co-author of The Incredible 5-Point Scale, and the author of When My Worries Get Too Big, A 5 Could Make Me Lose Control and A 5 is Against the Law! (2008 ASA literary award winner). Kari is the co-editor of a textbook for educators titled Learners on the Autism Spectrum: Preparing Highly Qualified Educators (2009 ASA literary award winner) and is the creator of an original social skills magazine designed for students with Asperger Syndrome called The Social Times (2010 Gold Winner, National Parenting Publications Award and Gold Medal Winner Moonbeam Children s Book Awards). Mitzi Beth Curtis, MsEd, is an autism resource specialist currently working for Intermediate School District 287 in Minnesota and is consulting with Minnesota Life College. She has worked in special education, supported employment and residential programs for individuals with disabilities since 1978. Her youngest sister, Maria, sent her on this journey with her birth in 1963.

I bought this because it advertised free blank scales. There are none in the book, and there was no CD included with my book. There are none available for free online, and I don't feel like paying a download fee for a scale when that was the reason I purchased this book. I'm frustrated. Like a good 3 on the 5 point scale.

Great tool to use as a therapist. The book presents many different ways to use the 5-point scale: for a child who is aggressive, anxious, etc. My favorite use of the tool is to use a 5-point scale for kids to identify their behaviors at each level 1-5 (e.g., 5 = out of control; hitting, kicking, biting, spitting); next column is for "What I can do" and the final column is for the parent to work out their strategies ("What my mom/dad can do").

Nice resource but downloadable content and promised CD were not included. I had the first edition and ordered the second to get the added bonuses that were not included. A waste of money.

I like it, but there is no reason swearing needs to be in this book. I'd probably give it 5 stars if it didn't have cursing in it. Not everyone has a filthy mouth.

I am frustrated because I ordered 2 copies of this book (thinking the first book without which was supposed include a cd and downloadable worksheets etc. I just received the second copy today and again - nothing. I read the comments from those who also ordered and it was the same issue! I wish I would have read those before I ordered these books!!!!They were helpful and - they are reimbursing for both books fully. I will look for this product elsewhere

The five point scale is something that should be used in every elementary classroom especially if that class includes special needs children. It gives everyone a visual way to judge their behavior.

It is not at all helpful for smart Aspergers kid age 9.

I purchased this book hoping to get tips on creating a 5 point scale for helping my child recognize and problem-solve their escalation issues. It has a great explanation and anecdotes of situations in which it helped children/teens/adults in visualizing their emotional states. The whole concept is a great strategy, first in creating a scale for emotional states or graphing escalation and as detailed as creating rubric for expected behaviors. However, I was a little disappointed that they don't parallel other social thinking products such as the Zones of Regulation. We were incorporating both systems and if your child is very visual and rigid, this can throw you/them off.

SPECIAL NOTE: For U.S. customers purchasing the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, you will notice the text has NOT been converted to the "Americanized" version of the original U.S. releases (with the exception of changing all "Philosopher's Stone" mentions to "Sorcerer's Stone"). So far, I have noticed the following: (EU/US) dialling / dialing; Shan't! / Won't!; sherbet lemon / lemon drop; motorbike / motorcycle; and dustbin / trashcan. For many purists of the series who never liked the idea of modifying the original text for an American audience, this is a good thing. Good or bad is naturally for each reader to decide--just know, if you plan to read the books while listening to Jim Dale's audiobooks, you'll notice a few superficial differences.The quality of this new illustrated edition is phenomenal. I've been excited about the release of this book since it was announced, but I never expected the book as a whole to be so well crafted.A couple of things to note:1. Underneath the book jacket, the novel is bound in a sturdy red hardback with gold lettering on the spine.2. The paper is thick with an eggshell glossy finish.3. All chapter intros are illustrated.4. Some images take up full pages or multiple pages. Most illustrations share the page with text.5. Every inch of the book is illustrated or decorated in some fashion. There are NO white pages in the book. Even the pages without large illustrations have the paper printed and marked with ink blots or paper "stains".I would highly recommend this for anyone looking to read the series (again, or for the first time), especially if you plan to read this with someone younger. If this book is a demonstration of what is to come with the illustrated editions for the rest of the series, we're all in for six more impeccable treats.

I LOVE THE STORY. Illustrations are great. PROBLEM is that the book came missing pages 153-168 because 137-152 were printed twice. It took me a week to realize this. You will want to check your books. I'm sure Amazon will take care of me but thank goodness I wasn't gifting this.

These illustrated editions of Harry Potter were done right! All of the original text is there and the artwork is beautiful. Every page has something, whether it's an illustration that takes up a full double page spread, a little drawing in the corner, a thematic border, or just a visually textured background. It may sound chaotic, like the visuals could be too much and break up the flow of reading but it is not; it enhances the story as you turn the pages and delight in the new visuals that each page brings. I imagine these would be a great way to bring children into the story, but they're so nice you may want to protect and collect these beauties. I can't wait for them to release the others.

I think this is my third reading of the Harry Potter series. The first time is a precious memory to me. Our four children would all climb into our king size bed before bedtime and we would read one or two chapters each evening. We homeschooled so, as each child's reading progressed, they read a part too. Their mom died. They're in late 20s now. Five grandkids. Those will be ready to read to before we know it. But life is not always neatly packaged. I married a widow and moved us all. Today they are off to their own lives. My four and I are scattered across four states and even overseas. So, I'm reading to myself now. I can't make a stronger recommendation than to say that I immediately purchased "The Order Of The Phoenix" after finishing this one. I also have the set in hardbound on the bookshelf beside me. But Kindle is just too convenient. *smile*

My husband tried to surprise me with this order, but we share the amazon account ;)I WAS surprised though, because I didn’t realize it would be textbook size with all these amazing scenes drawn out. They’re AH-MAY-ZING drawings!! If you love Harry Potter, you will love these books. For some reason, hubs couldn’t find the first and second of the series (I did ;p) so he bought the third first, but we know the stories by heart so it doesn’t matter to me. I hope they put out all of them! It almost feels like how I felt waiting for the actual series to come out.
