I'm looking for books for several kids 8 and under, and I'll admit I found myself wondering at least once if they might hit a word (veal) life has not thrown their way yet.This quick read runs through a dozen occupations ( maybe more, I did not count) with easy to understand explanations of each one.

Reading a good, clean children's book is something that the entire family can always enjoy. Sometimes, however, they surprise me by having a little more substance to them.

I read this to my girls and they and I both enjoyed it. It opens up the possibilities. Great book.

Loved this book! My son is 19 months old but he's starting to understand that I leave for work a lot and I think this book will help him understand that in the future.

I got this book for my 4, now 5 year old. We have both the old and the new version. We loved it before, but it is even better revamped. It's fun to read because the names flow nicely with the jobs, and they all have cute little informative rhymes. It's so great to read about women in all kinds of jobs, including a few less common and typical "man" jobs. The graphics are great - eye catching, and the words pop with the white outline on the new version. I have given this book as gifts and I have always had awesome responses to it. Can't say enough great things about this book! We love it!

"Marni" is a refreshingly-written autobiography and a very impressive first for this young author. Marni's personality shows through in every word, pulling the reader into her life.Although some autobiographies can turn into sob stories, the author counterbalances all of the bad things in her life with the most positive of messages--that one is not alone in the world, and can look back on even the most horrible of experiences with humour.Marni shows that anyone can rise above adversity and make a wonderful life for themselves. Despite the serious nature of the topics she discusses, her book is an uplifting and amusing read.Two thumbs up!

What a boring book having little to do with the topic of hair pulling. I doubt if the author even had the problem. She mainly writes about her relationship with her father. I read it on the Amtrak train and left it there for someone else to find.

I have great appreciation for the strength it took Marni to share her story, and great empathy for her struggle. BUT, as an expert in child development and a mother of a thirteen year old girl who struggles with anxiety and trich, this book is not a great read. Very few pages of the book actually discuss the urge to pull, the relief it creates, the fluctuation between not wanting to quit and/or the embarrassment and self loathing that occurs when one is no longer able to hide their struggle. The book's discussion questions and tone imply that trich is related to poor parenting and a challenging childhood.Yet, many children with trich and other forms of anxiety come from supportive, caring, informed, and loving households (where they have strong bonds with their siblings and their parents). Marni compares her trich and her cousin's drug/alcohol addiction. Substance abuse and trich can both be connected to anxiety, stress, and untreated mental health concerns. Through treatment, it appears Marni's cousin has successfully battled his addiction. In contrast, Marni voices her thoughts that medication and therapy did not work (although she does not appear to have tried more than one therapist and no medications). Instead she seems to have made a conscious decision to continue to pull. If you are a young reader or a parent looking for a book that provides a role model and someone to relate to (hoping you or your child doesn't feel so alone in their experience) is this the messages you want to send? I am choosing not to pass the book along to my daughter. Instead, I will continue to look for someone who is equally as honest as Marni about the challenges of growing up (escalated by having an anxiety disorder), but someone determined to continue to do the hard work needed to overcome / squash the impulse to pull (cognitive behavior therapy) and be open to using a well researched medication to lessen anxiety to a level in which the therapy can be successful!

I have trich too and I didn't even know what it was until I read this book. In the last year or so, I have read this book a lot and it was very helpful.💇

The author paints a clear picture of growing up in a broken home and having an incredible amount of stress for a kid. This book has encouraged me and I appreciate the author putting herself out there in hopes to benefit others. My heart goes out to her.

I bought this book for my 12 yo daughter hoping it might be motivational since she also suffers from trich, but she finds it boring and won't read it. She generally likes reading and when it's a book she likes she won't put it down.

Great. book. Fan of her fiction. And impressed with her raw honesty in this book.

God awful! I was hoping to read about Marni's addiction to hair pulling and the relief she got from hair pulling. What happened to get her to stop. U was hoping for a book more on recovery. This is a boring, whiney read that I can equate to my childhood diaries.

I was a little disappointed in the wear of the cover. Pieces were peeling off. I would not have purchased this book had I known the cover was such poor shape. Wow! Such a spellbinding and surprising story. I loved it! The characters are flawed, a dreamer and a realist.The cross-over of these characters between Titans, SEALs, and Sutton's Security, combined with the Quinn family, adds delightful depth.I love what Cami Checketts is doing with these characters.During the climactic action scenes, I began visualizing this book as a movie. How fun would it be to see this on the big screen? Of course, the casting would have to be spot on.Now, I am looking forward to the story of another character, but I won't spoil it for you.

This book had me turning pages so I could find out what was happening. Jasmine worked with Sutton’s security team. She was a lethal woman capable of taking wicked men down. Then she met Kaleb at her sister’s wedding. She had had a crush on him for seems like her whole life. But then she had to marry him to stop a killer. She loved but didn’t feel worthy. You’ll have to read the rest because I don’t want to spoil the story. Suffice to say, you’ll love it too.

I finished the book but it was something of a challenge. Insta-love is all well and good, but Caleb was a bit much. I mean, she's who she is and he's too clueless to understand what she needs to do in order to keep him safe. It was borderline pathetic. There was a lack of respect on his side too. It was all about his feelings, so ignore what she was going through. I got through but wow he was not what I expected.

Salt. Sass. Threats and devastating guilt mixed with a famous singer and a deadly undercover operative who’s shady past haunts her present makes for great romance.

Jasmine is physically beautiful and physically strong, trained to take down anyone that is a threat to whoever she is assigned to guard. She has no time or inclination for romance, but Kable has other ideas. Enough tension and romance to keep the reader awake all night. Very good!

What a wonderful story of forgiveness and redemption! I was SO intrigued by Jasmine in The Devoted Groom - a book I loved IMMENSELY - that I had to immediately get on Amazon so I could download The Conflicted Warrior and read it! As much as I truly enjoyed The Devoted Groom (I’m not a fan of football, but I’m a HUGE fan of the Texas Titan Romances!), and I totally fell for all the characters-well, not the BAD GUYS ;-), but I liked Conflicted Warrior even better. I’m a complete sucker when you add in the BEST LOVE STORY EVER. A heart that accepts the love of their Savior and is then able to love and accept the love of others. Beautiful! Thanks for another wonderful story. I’m looking forward to the adventure of the next Quinn brother falling in love!

Another fun book by Cami Checketts! Kaleb is wonderful and such a dream. And Jasmine is everything I want in a leading female character. It’s intriguing to read about people overcoming their past and becoming better people. I love a happily ever after ending, especially when it’s not an ordinary ending.

The overall story was great, but the previous story on her sister Bree is from another series by this same author so unless you read that story you are lost on that story line, as well as the stories on the brother's. It is also in the previous books where Jaz and Kaleb meet so you lose alot of the back story by not reading the previous series. This book starts after they meet and kinda rough thinking the instant love part just happened but its all in the previous series. As I said this story was good, interesting and very few editing errors which I appreciate. The problem I had and the reason for the 2 star rating is the author's over use of "not being worthy" its used over and over and over. Both by Jaz and by Griff and by Kaleb. It got old fast. The Amazon writeup didn't market this as a Christian romance. There is alot of "Jesus loves you and prayers to God" in it. It would have been nice to know ahead of time. I'm not against this type of book but I was caught off guard. This series has nothing to do with the Sutton Capital series by Lori Ryan, so its a bit deceiving ....it took me forever to chase down the previous books so I could figure out how and why they met, I looked in all the Sutton Capital series books and was lost again. You have to read the Texas Titan series.....ugggg
