This book was worth the purchase for the Shepard's Pie all on its own. We've not tried many others but darn, that Shepard's Pie is startlingly impressive. We made it on several different occasions and each time we've been asked to share the recipe. I want to make it for my grandfather who's own grandmother was described by many as "a d@mn fine Irish cook". Both of his grandparents were from Ireland and he has fond memories of eating traditional Irish food. I'd like to know how this stacks up against her recipe!

Made a great gift for my very Irish grandmother. She flipped through the book the whole rest of the day. Can't wait to try the recipes inside! The photography is beautiful.

I love the cookbook. Not only does one get lots of great Irish recipes, tales of the author's childhood in Ireland are interspersed among them. The photographs are beautiful and entice the reader to make the recipes. Along with simple, easy to follow and to prepare recipes, the author has included some more challenging and complex recipes for dishes he serves at his restaurant. All in all a great Irish cookbook.

I was never an "unsatisfied customer". I don't know where that came from.I love to cook and wanted to try Irish cooking for the few Irish friends I have, I'm Cuban, so I ordered this book, I saw it in the library, and so far the dishes I cooked from this book thus far were great. I must admit, I added a little twist to make the recipes my own, but the base was fantastic. Enjoyfrom a "satisfied customer"

The book is great quality in writing and photos. I really enjoy the recipes as the really take me back to Ireland.

My husband and I were given the gift of My Irish Table by my sister when we lived in Ireland. There are a number of excellent, delicious, and authentic Irish meals ready to enjoy using this cookbook. We like it so much that we bought it for my sister now that we're back in Canada. It will be her Christmas present this coming year. What an easy, and enjoyable way to shop for special people.

I enjoy the recipes & the instructional way they are presented. Also enjoy the personal narratives. The author could have tempered his self effusive, puffed-up view of himself abit; we already know you're a success Cathal!! Remains however, one of the best Irish cook books available

I truly enjoyed this book. Well written and informative on how to be hungry for God.

I have been through the book once many years ago. As God tugged on my heart, letting me know to take out the marked up book again and renew my chase. In the process I was urged to buy 4 books to give to 4 friends who give our Friday nights to our church homeless ministry. God is bonding us together to be more than we are and I believe that He will use this book to do just that. If you have a hunger for more of God then this is book to start that journey. Don't expect to read this is a couple of settings, or read and then go to bed. This is more than fine words of a bedtime story, or a good story about Tommy Tenney. It is about how to get to the heart of God, how to feed the hunger for His presence.

I love the authors “In you face attitude!” He tells it how it is. It’s a great book and well written. It’ll definitely help bring you to a place in your prayer time that’ll cause a little repentance!!

Phenomenal book that is full of words that are very much alive and still apply greatly to today... even 15+ years later! After reading the book initially in 2001(a little skeptic) while living in Dallas, TX, I have now attended the church in Houston that chapter one speaks of for over four years. The split plexi-glass pulpit sits in the front lobby today. I'm now re-reading The God Chasers with a brand new perspective. LOVE it! Will recommend it every time I get a chance!

The churches are full, but of what are they full? As a very open-minded Christian, I share the feelings the author has concerning today's religious country clubs we call Churches. I don't think that the author of this book was trying to put down Scriptures as some supposed, but there is much to God and of God than what He has done in the past. God wants us to enjoy His awesome presence and not just get a few goose bumps on Sunday mornings and leave the same way we went to Church. We are supposed to seek God's face and not His blessing (2 Chronicles 7:14). Generally speaking, I think that for years we, Christians, have shown the world how loud we can get, how big our buildings are, how holy we are, and yet, there is no bread in the House of Bread. Again, you CAN'T judge a book by reading one chapter, there's no wisdom on that, but this book and any other book that references the Bible MUST be evaluated in the light of the written Word of God and determine is the whole book is out of order with God's will or if there is some meat that is edible. Paul says, "Prove all things; hold fast that which is good." I believe in revelations from God, but they must be in accord with Scripture. Generally speaking, I am so amazed at the arrogance we Christians have when we are confronted with a different point of view of God. If what someone says does not conform to what our doctrine, not Scriptures, teaches, we discard it so easily. While others might think the author is putting down Scripture, at the same time, they are elevating their doctrine/belief above Scripture. I think this book is fabulous and has answered so many questions I had had in the past concerning God. No, this book is not above the Bible, but it is worth the reading. Be a God Chaser not a blessings chaser. Chase the Giver, not the gifts. Be open to the Great Teacher, the Holy Spirit of God. If He says throw away the book, do it. Only HE can lead you to ALL truth. May God bless all who are seeking His face!!!

And that the author Tommy Tenney had coined "The God Chasers," name for those who were radically willing to change their actions, lifestyle and even ways of thinking to have an intimate spiritual relationship with a risen Savior. Actually this book is great reading for anyone.

Well-produced product with tons of good information for RPing in the Warhammer setting, but the game system is pretty mediocre, especially the career-driven skill system, which forces players to go through nonsensical decision trees to tailor their characters to their desires.

I was worried when they announced a second edition of the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay rules. Part of the appeal of the WFRP rules is that they are so simple, and I feared fiddling could only make things more complicated. But now, having played several sessions with the new rules, I can honestly say that the changes were a great improvement. They managed to keep the simplicity that encourages role-play over power-gaming while cleaning up some of the more clumsy elements (the magic system is a notable improvement). The same career system is in place, but the careers choices have been balanced well enough that there's a good reason to choose any of them, unlike the old rules where some few careers were hardly worth considering.Someone who has never played before and doesn't know the rules could have an entire character rolled up and ready to play in as little as 30 minutes. The entire process is die rolls, so you don't have to make decisions that require knowing the rulebook, like when you have to choose skills or spells in other games.The history of the world is quote a bit lighter than in the previous rulebook, and in my opinion easier to read. Where previously even though it was interesting it was pretty dense and dry, but the history has been rewritten now to be a bit more interesting and relevant for the players.They've removed a few things that used to be included, for instance in the back of the book there used to be maps and images of common buildings but that has been moved to a supplementary book (the Game Master's screen, I believe). That's unfortunate but I can live with it.If you're used to playing with more complicated rules, like d20, Rifts, GURPS or similar, I highly recommend trying out the Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay system. See what it's like not having to worry whether your mace does more damage than your longsword. In WFRP the story and the lives of the players are the focus, instead of the rules. Less "roll-play" and more "role-play".

The world is exactly as described: grim and perilous. You roll up your "dooming" at character creation, and spend the game trudging through the peril toward insanity. Of course it depends on your GM, but within the first six games of our first Warhammer campaign, three characters were dead, two were amputees, and one had lost an eye. This might not sound like much fun if you're used to playing essentially indestructible heroes in other games, but trust me, everyone loves it!The percentile-based system is far easier to deal with than the mechanics of other games we've played; rather than an arbitrary target number assigned by the GM, you need to roll under the number on your sheet (with possible modifiers in degrees of plus or minus ten), so you immediately know whether you succeed or fail. The optional rules for drunkenness, insanity, and disease are often a combination of hilarious and disgusting. Not exactly adults-only, but definitely in the PG-13 range. This is the best pen-and-paper RPG I've played.

The new Warhammer roleplay book is an excellent return to the good old days of Warhammer roleplaying. Gone is the cumbersome magic system and the mediore careers and the somewhat clunky dice system. In the new system everything is done by D10s and that helps things greatly. I have high hopes for this new system and the company that puts it out especially when (at the end of the book) the publisher said that there would be new Warhammer material released more often than when Hogshead published it. If you ever played Warhammer roleplay I highly recommend this book as It improves the overall game while adding new flavor. 5 stars all the way!!!

As an avid AD&D player, that has also sampled other RPGs with friends, I enjoy Warhammer immensely. This is a concise core book that is great for players and DMs alike. Being used to a D&D type of world, it's hard to get used to the idea that magic is ultra rare and frowned upon due to Chaos. But, that's a great twist with this game. Those of you looking for a difference RPG system to try, I'd highly recommend this one. The core book is a must of course. ;)

This is one of the good ones. No special dice, just ten siders and at most you would need is three. A pair for percentage and one die for the damage if you don't want to keep rolling a d10 from your percentage.. The magic system is okay and as long as you have a good game master, everything else will fall in to place.

Perhaps my favorite and most realistic ruleset for a fantasy rpg. Still running this game years later,

I've started running WFRP now, and have purchased a lot of the books. We've had a blast in my group playing the game again, in its 2nd edition form. The book is fairly well laid out and you can create characters and learn the rules very quickly. My only real problem with this book (and Sigmar's Heir - the book about the empire) is that I'd REALLY like to see more maps.As a GM, WFRP seems pretty deadly for basic career characters. Definitely run your group through a few mock combats before creating your module's encounters so you can get a feel for how fast they'll die. Otherwise, you'll have to do a lot of adjustments on the fly. Oh, and get the GM screen - otherwise you'll be flipping to the critical hits charts a LOT.

I'm a big fan of yodeling and new yodeling recordings are relatively hard to find. "How to yodel" recordings are even more rare. I was thrilled when I saw that Wylie Gustafson was releasing an instruction cd on how to yodel. I preordered right away.After hearing the CD, I declared it a winner. Wylie is a superior cowboy yodeler and I've always enjoyed his sassy yodel sound. Wylie keeps things simple and provides both instructional yodels and sing along tracks so you can practice the songs once you learn the basics. He includes one lesson that other yodeling instructions often leave out. That is, how to find the break in your voice.I like Wylie's technique for learning the voice break a lot and think it's one of the most effective tricks I'ver heard. It consists of "toggling" between your chest voice and your head voice. I think anyone could find the break if they use this technique.I particularly enjoyed the little book that comes with the CD and it is very humorous. It contains some history and is a general reference guide for all things "yodel". I loved Robert Payne's very skillfull and funny illustrations that permeate the pages of the book.Wylie is up front about this being an introductory level effort and that his aim was to keep it simple. I found myself wishing for more though. But, I'm a more advanced amateur yodeler and pretty much have all of the Wylie's yodels covered. This isn't meant to detract from the very fun instructions that Wylie has provided and beginners should buy it right away.I still favor Kerry Christensen's "U 2 Can Yodel" (but, I favor alpine yodeling) as the best yodeling instruction CD out there. Having said that, I highly recommend Wylie Gustafson's HOW TO YODEL as a terrific, fun, approach to learning the art of yodeling.

Book is great seller didn't include the candy didn't state it would be. Missing

I can already yodel so this is not great for me. Especially because it is done for a male voice. Female voices are pitched totally differently so it is harder to follow along with his renditions.

Great way to start learning a fun and amazing skill. Plus great stress reducer. Takes your mind off all your problems-when you're yodeling."How to Yodel" is easy to follow and easy to repeat lessons over and over and over.

Another one I bought my grandmother for her entertainment. She has always loved to try to yodel. I'm not sure how much use she has had from it.

Wylie's simple lessons had me yodeling in two weeks and when my 5 yr old granddaughter came back from holidays she could do a good yodel in one day! What a fantastic Xmas present. The book and CD are really helpful and kind. He teaches in a very helpful and friendly way. I am 70 and and it has been uplifting and great fun.We live in Auckland New Zealand and the delivery was earlier than expected. An added bonus Grateful thanks all round.

Meh.. not helpful enough. I was really looking for more.. but my lack of talent in this area probably accounts for most of my problem.

I'm looking for books for several kids 8 and under, and I'll admit I found myself wondering at least once if they might hit a word (veal) life has not thrown their way yet.This quick read runs through a dozen occupations ( maybe more, I did not count) with easy to understand explanations of each one.

Reading a good, clean children's book is something that the entire family can always enjoy. Sometimes, however, they surprise me by having a little more substance to them.

I read this to my girls and they and I both enjoyed it. It opens up the possibilities. Great book.

I got this book for my 4, now 5 year old. We have both the old and the new version. We loved it before, but it is even better revamped. It's fun to read because the names flow nicely with the jobs, and they all have cute little informative rhymes. It's so great to read about women in all kinds of jobs, including a few less common and typical "man" jobs. The graphics are great - eye catching, and the words pop with the white outline on the new version. I have given this book as gifts and I have always had awesome responses to it. Can't say enough great things about this book! We love it!
