This is a really great book for parents of adopted, foster, or other traumatized children. It gives a scenario, then the traditional approach, then a new approach. Oh how I relate to the traditional approach! Without knowing it, that is what I thought & what I've heard so many times from peers & parents! This book gave me more empathy, and a new way to view behaviors with the kiddos I'm helping. I also got this book on Audible. I had to keep pausing the audio because I was blown away. They were describing some of my situations! It took me some time to digest (although it is not in complicated language, it gives deep insight). I will be re-reading/listening.

This book hasn't worked any "magic", but it did help me understand some of my sons behavior. For children with a traumatic background, I believe this method is useful. I would suggest parents of adopted or foster children read the book. However, the book needs more examples of real life. The three examples given in the chapter for aggression have the child calming down or at least not being physically aggressive when you sit and wait out their behavior calmly. There is no discussion about what to do when the child is attacking you physically.

I had been struggling for years with my daughter's behaviors. In my line of profession as an educator I not only have worked with extremely behaviorally challenged children, but have also had the opportunity to work with families in their homes and empower parents, equipping them with skills to successfully support their child's development and success, however I was finding that I could help "fix" everybody else's child, but my own. Someone once said to me it was because I was more emotionally attached to my own in a way I wasn't to the others. I began to pray harder and my prayers went from "show me God how to help her be successful" to "help me Lord become the parent she needs me to be. Help me see her through Your eyes. Show me how I need to change me, in order to be who she needs me to be, for her." Within a week of constant praying this prayer, one day after praying this prayer I began another internet search, my Google search was nothing different than before, but this time this book "fell into my lap". I read an excerpt from it and it immediately clicked. Being an educator and very knowledgeable of early childhood and brain development,everything went hand in hand with what I already knew...so I bought the book because usually had to read more! It was then that I discovered how I had to deal with my own fears and heal myself in order to meet my daughter's needs and begin the processes of healing her from her fears. This book truly was a God send and I recommend it to everyone I can!

This book has been life changing in our home. We did not realize until after adoption that we were facing attachment disorder issues. Once I realized how bad things were getting and how wrong the direction we were headed was, I looked for answers and found them in this book. The understanding I have for her behaviors and my own have changed our home. There is more love, very little yelling and much less stress. I have also been able to apply this to all aspects of my life. Work and otherwise. It gives you a better understanding of people and how their behavior enacts your own fears and as a result your own behaviors. I am much more peaceful and for that I will be forever grateful. I have told everyone I know about this book. My husband and I will be traveling to a seminar in November as well.

5 stars, because it immediately changed the paradigms on logic and consequences in our parenting. Lots more peace and joy in the family that our adopted son deserves. Prior to reading the book I was sure I needed to fix myself because I had begun to notice I was reacting in fear. Perfect that I was recommended this book because I found out that our son has his own fears, too! My hubby is reading this now so he will understand my new attitude!

Rarely is there a book that has such a big impact that it marks time. There is the extreme frustration and severe pain before reading this book, then there was the beginning of healing that began 4 years ago once I read this book.I dont remember that the book was completely applicable and useful. I do remember passages that shifted my thinking and helped me see the need for me to practice unconditional love and acceptance of the situation.Would I have found this understanding eventually without reading this book? I honesty dont know. I do know that reading this book helped me to shift my thinking, led me to start supporting my daughter, which led her to accept lots of professional help. She is now on her way toward recovery.

Galería de Arte Nacional, Caracas, Venezuela).

Excelente trabajo de Karen Racine acerca de uno de los grandes heroes de la independencia de sudamerica,este libro retrata la vida y la dura época en la que vivio Francisco de Miranda y nos demuestra lo adelantado que estuvo su pensamiento para finales del siglo XVIII,sus viajes por Estados Unidos y Europa hicieron de Miranda un personaje extraordinario.

Karen Racine's book follows Miranda's life as a citizen of the Atlantic world, put into the framework of Miranda's ultimate goal to inspire and lead wars of independence in Spanish South America. Because Miranda spent the vast majority of his life traveling outside of Latin America, and because he is granted the title "Precursor" of Latin American independence (he failed at personally inspiring any revolutions), the book is probably more pertinent to the study of Enlightenment Europe than Latin American History. Racine's style of writing is somewhat simplistic and at times relies on psychological historiography, of which I am personally skeptical, and makes declarations concerning Miranda's emotional state at certain points in his life which without specific in-text references to his diaries seem like biased assumptions. In general, the book would benefit from more references to primary sources but Racine's biographical book is undoubtedly well-researched and well put together. I would suggest this book for those interested in studying late eighteenth- early nineteenth-century Enlightenment Europe as the "Age of Revolution."

I have the National Parks of the United States book and after visiting several National Parks in Canada I realized it would be very helpful if I also got the National Parks of Canada book since I hope to be visiting more national parks in Canada. I find these books have a lot of very useful information when planning to visit a national park and I recommend them.

Very helpful but would like to see more parks than provided.

I love this guide. Gorgeous photos, and tons of great information about each park, including best times to visit, how to get there, fees, etc. This is a book you pick up and just keep flipping through.

Great book for planning visits to Canada's National Parks. Some hikes are listed (a best of...), which is helpful when trying to get a feel for a park. We always stop at the visitors center once we arrive to grab a hiking trail guide though, which is usually more detailed.Definitely recommend this book if you're thinking about traveling to CNP!

Have the US National Parks version which I love so wanted this for Canadian Parks which were are going to start exploring this summer. Great information on each of the parks including hiking trails and activites or sites to see. Great pictures included. Gives you info on camp grounds as well as lodging inside and outside of the parks.

Has a little of everything.

Very complete manual. I would not use all chapters, as they are for a full fledged mechanic. For changing fuel filters, spark-plugs, and changing the oil it is perfect for me. This manual covers the methods to get to the area's requiring annual's on this Yamaha. Price was right also.

High recommended! This is a refreshing book! Delves deeply with the baptism in the Holy Spirit. Randy Clark supplies us who read this wonderful book not only with support from the Word of God, but also from his experiences. I have tried to read all I can regarding the Baptism of the Holy Spirit and this book stands out among all the other books! This book describes a balanced view of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It also is very PRACTICAL. It tells us:1- Both the Pentacostal and Traditional views of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, as well as the Protestant and the Catholic perspectives!2-Practical instructions of how to RECEIVE the Holy Spirit.3-The Benefits and How to receive the wholeness of God. This book is not only a good teaching with a balanced view from all perspectives, but what I enjoyed is how practical it is in How to be filled with the Holy Spirit, How to be in His Presence and being Led by the Spirit, the Holiness and Purity and Power of the Holy Spirit we can all experience and enjoy as Children of God! Not only that, we are commended to do it !.

As soon as I got this book, I read it for 2 days straight. Before I ordered it, I read the reviews because I was desperate to find good books that will reveal to me the how-to for The Holy Spirit. I'm a single mom who doesn't yet have a car and I watch ministry on Youtube since I can't make it to church. I've never met Randy Clark or any of these amazing people with strong inspiring relationships with God. I was hoping this wasn't gonna be another book that would lead me on and at the last 2 pages suddenly give me a little hope. I got my wish! Through the first half of the book, I kept thinking I was in school, Randy was at the front of the classroom showing youtube videos and taking me on a journey through time and different places to meet people, and after this and this chapter I would graduate and get my hard earned diploma. It felt real. Then through the second half of the book, I learned ALL KINDS of unexpected things about Holy Spirit. I was WAY off with my expectations before reading this book. Then when Randy prays his prayer of impartation over you in the book, YOU WILL feel a sense of "WOW what just happened?!" YOU DO feel equipped with the full knowledge of Holy Spirit AND you'll feel how real He Is. My eyes are opened. This book wasn't those types of books where the author boasts of their wonderful skill throughout the entire book without sharing with the reader how to receive these things and at the very end says good luck and you immediately decide that book is going straight to Goodwill. No, this is one of those permanent-spot-on-the-shelf books that you'll either want to read over and over or keep at your bedside to search and memorize phrases from it. It was worth more than the money I spent yet the affordability was appreciative as I ordered a big bundle of books equalling to nearly $200. BTW, today is the day after I finished reading it and a teacher I work with (out-of-nowhere) gave me a prophetic Word. That's never happened to me. I wasn't brought up to believe in these things. This book is no joke. If you're searching to know The Holy Spirit, you're about to find out. This book WILL change your life.

Let me first say that I am a Spirit filled Pentecostal and have been for over 20 years. Throughout my ministry God has used me in a prophetic role to expose and stand against false teachers. I consider this book to be very dangerous and the Spirit behind it is not the Holy Spirit. A brief internet search will reveal that the author claims to be an Apostle on the same level as Paul and Peter. As such, God is giving him new non-biblical revelations that are to be accepted above what the Bible says. In other words the Bible is no longer to be the Christian's measuring rod, or standard, but Mr. Clark's words are. In this book the author claims that neither the evangelical view or the Pentecostal view of baptism in the Holy Spirit is correct, but is view is the correct one. When giving his review of the Pentecostal view on this matter, he puts his own spin on it so as to undermine it. Their are a lot of deleted facts. Books on the Holy Spirit by Robert Menzies will demonstrate this. Mr. Clark believes that Bible doctrine should be based on experience rather than Scripture. This is very wrong and creates all kind of false teachings. So in Mr. Clark's view, barking like a dog, rolling on the ground, laughing uncontrollably, being shocked to the point of being in such pain you can barely walk, etc. are all legitimate signs of Spirit baptism.Mr. Clark also attacks the Biblical standard of holiness and calls it "legalistic" . In his view a person who rolls around trembling, smokes and drinks is operating in the Holy Spirit. This is a spirit alright, but not the Holy One!Finally Mr. Clark fully embraces cults (Roman Catholicism) as Christian.Their is a lot wrong here and I strongly encourage some serious research by anyone considering purchasing.

I like the theme of the book--The baptism of the Holy Spirit and the presence of God restingupon you.I also like the testimonies.The author does intensive research evident in the bibliography of more than ten pages.The research information is good, but the presentation of the information is CHAOTIC.The author focuses on many different topics: The baptism of the Holy Spirit; the history of the baptism of theHoly Spirit; the Early Church perspective; the Roman Catholic Church perspective; the Protestant Church perspective;the Pentecostal Church perspective; the Charismatic Church perspective; the Great Awakenings or Revivals;testimonies, etc.The author loses focus of the central theme and presents an academic research, in the brain-storming stage.It defeats the purpose for writing the book and effectiveness.

Randy Clark's book, or at least the opening chapter (the only part available as of today) is a practical, thorough and Biblical treatise that not only tells the story (and stories!) of Pentecost, but filled me with hunger and a sense of yearning too.
