I've fallen in love with this book. Every line, ever page. It's everything that I couldnt have made up into words, in a book. Definitely a must read!

Some of the poems really hit deeply, but most unfortunately (for me) were just too simple and lacked intellectual strength and stimulation. I really wanted to love this book but I came away a little disappointed because I just "liked" it. I wish it had more depth and a stronger command of poetic language.

I had high expectations for this book. Unfortunately, I found it to be quite repetitive and not very deep. The language was very general and I did not feel as though the feelings of a man in love were articulated well enough for me to enjoy. The sentiments themselves are beautiful, but I was rather disappointed with the relaying of those sentiments. I was also able to get through the book in under thirty minutes. It’d be worth a purchase if it was not $13. Overall, worth a read, but nothing innovative and something that I found to be average.

It arrived a little early and just by flipping through I already love it.. I can't wait to start tabbing my favorites in this oneThe only thing I have to say with packaging is that the lower corner was bent a little but it's fine..not to noticeable unless I look closer to it. Also the top were the binding us was a little beatup but the other book that I ordered with this one had the same problem so just normal shipping issues I suppose, it is paper overall n I don't mind my books a lil beat up cuz it's gunna happen at some point.

Very rarely do you find poetry that enters into the deepest parts of you. Revealing the true nature of you and the world around you. This book was written phenomenally, from pose to diction to imagery and metaphors. When reading this book you will ask yourself, why have I not accepted and acknowledge the alternative truth. Why haven't I allowed the realism of emotion eradicate the confirmations of self love, self care and the gratitude of love and being. Although silence cause us to ponder on the fibers of intuition, most books these days don't address is mere presence. If your looking for art and a way to get in tune with your being and thoughts on love, self care and growth, this collective of poems is the place to start and reflect.

I like the cover photo which is the main I purchased the book. I felt like I was reading a bunch of Instagram meme’s on love and relationships, not poetry. The poems are short just like the majority of the popcorn poetry out there. I guess since our attention spans have shortened, they have to make sure they could quickly grab the readers attention and not make them read too many sentences.

Absolutely love this book! Greatest poetry ever, im going to keep buying books from this author.

I was drawn to this story by the concept, as someone who grew up with harem anime and rom coms I could see fun paths a story like this could do... It does keep to the idea it presents to an extent. The Author is clearly a fan of the genre and is having fun writing a fluffy, ultimately silly story. Perhaps it's me who was hoping for a deeper cut into the tropes of the genre instead of playing them fairly straight. But I was underwhelmed...Characters are very flat, and dialog is very stilted and awkward. They all lean so heavily into their tropes that none of them feel real, even compared to the kind of characters their meant to be representing from anime/manga. Everyone speaks in very formal stiff ways much of the times that does not flow well. Conversations often feel more like characters taking turns to monologue then a real conversation. I'm also personally not a fan of the 'script' format of dialog in stories but that one is a matter of preference.Characterization in specificTomo and his family are probably the worst offenders of this their all so over the top (especially Kana, whose stick wore thin REAL fast). They never seemed to feel like a family at all, even an eccentric one like this story is trying to portray... Considering their all technically 'side characters' in this pseudo-anime series where Hiro is the dense main character you could argue that's fine but since they are much more in focus as Tomo is the other lead it really hurts any scene with the family...Mina is another very inconsistent character whose characterization swears back and forth in ways that make it hard to follow. By the end it's framed that's she's come out in a more positive light but her two faced turn was played too hard that the rebound back just fell flat with me... I would argue that this series wouldn't need a 'childhood friend' girl in the harem since Tomo would be taking over that role shortly after but that might just be a narrative preference.Ironically The Chapters from Hiro's perspective work quite well and despite being constantly lauded as the 'generic main character-kun' he's the only one I that felt like a real character... He had some depth to him, his insecurities and loyalty to his friend are shown well... it's not perfect but it definitely rang truer then anyone else in the cast.Tomo him/herself was set up initially as the 'only sane man' or 'side character B' but actually feels more like the infallible LN protagonist Hiro suppose to spoof on. The book hammers on how pretty, kind and intelligent they are to death, it's more then a bit much. There are moments, particularly with Hiro that it works okay, some parts of the amusement park were nice... but there were too many moment that took me out rather then in. By the end of the book she's got many shades of the Sue varietyOverallI don't regret purchasing this book, for what I spent it was an okay read for a free afternoon. I've read worse stories but I've definitely read better. Ultimately at the end of the day it made me think of everything I was hoping the story would be but wasn't(which I will spar this review as that's hardly relevant to actually product). Maybe I'll come back to this series later down the line and try another volume to see if things have improved but for now I'm bowing out at Volume 1.

I feel that this is going to strongly try and play itself as a parody of most harem manga/anime/visual novels/light novels.Checklist to ensure the book follows harem, parody, and Japan's style:-An attempt at manga style artwork (At least on the cover) ✓-A long, lengthy title that might require abbreviation to remember it well ✓-All the "fun" harem cliches/tropes (Or as many as can be fit into a 1 volume book) ✓- Much ridiculousness in its plot and characters ✓- Does it get a laugh? ✓✓✓- Did I enjoy it?✓✓✓-Would I recommend it?✓✓✓Review:Read on:07/05/18My thoughts:Before: The first thing I noticed besides the cover, was the title. It's lengthy like most light novels or manga that usually get some kind of anime adaptation or live action adaptation. It kind of also speaks to me as if it really wishes to be seen as a parody of sorts when reading it. But of course, I know this isn't the first time someone has attempted to poke fun at these tropes in manga or anime. So, I'll properly judge it after a nice read through it.Final: Wow I really enjoyed this book. I think maybe because it's that romance and fluff I enjoy so much.(I guess I need to actually accept it as another one of my guilty pleasure genres.)Also yeah this book pokes some fun at the harem cliches and tropes, but really focuses most on being a fun gender-bend romance story. And I can totally see this may be becoming a live-action drama series or anime if it wasn't more addressed to the Western audience.But I would also like to say that the author he did a good job and is clearly very familiar with anime tropes, light novels, and the romance genre surrounding anime.And lastly, I will say that I look forward to the next installment in the story.Recommends to:If you liked The Hentai Prince and The Stony Cat Volume 1 you'll find a few similar themes here and there are a few others I could recommend but this one has a very similar trigger to what this story does.Hope you enjoyed my review!! This is an enjoyable quick read, suitable for age 12 or so and up ( I'm 37). Definitely hits all the expected tropes, with anime style descriptions and character archetypes. I'll probably read it again, along with a sequel.Minor criticisms: Could use a little proofreading, but much better than a lot of Kindle books out there. The dialogue wasn't incorporated into the rest of the text, but was set off into separate paragraphs with the speaker's name in brackets at the beginning. I think it would greatly improve this book by using things like "he said", "she cried", etc.Major criticism: I felt like the gender swap was kind of underplayed. The mc has about one day of angst about suddenly becoming a girl, and then is completely okay with it. Getting registered for school was a bigger deal than "holy crap, I'm a girl!". A little more depth there would have been cool.And that's as deep and thoughtful as I'm going to get about a light novel, unless I get asked to do so.

Stefanie Carnes, Ph.D., has led numerous research projects on addiction and authored many publications including her nationally renowned book, Mending a Shattered Heart: A Guide for Partners of Sex Addicts (2nd edition, Sept. 2011). Dr. Carnes is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, an AAMFT clinical member and approved supervisor. She is also certified through IITAP (International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals) as a Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor. Dr. Carnes resides in Phoenix, AZ.Mari A. Lee, MA, LMFT, CSAT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. Ms. Lee is the founder of Growth Counseling Services, Inc., a recovery center in Pasadena, CA, where she sees clients for individual, couples and group therapy. The addict's partners at times do not get treatment as a victim along with the addict and sometimes they just minimize their own suffering (coping mechanism?) and everything becomes about getting the addict out of the addiction and/or protecting the kids from even more emotional damage than they have already been through.This book takes you through the stage of discovery, your pain and suffering and tells you how to go about recognizing your emotional roller coaster ...and then get strong enough to move past that. Take charge of YOU. Take control of what happens in your life from this point on and where your boundaries are. The hardest part is getting past the feeling of being 'selfish' and taking care of your needs, yourself first.Do also read Mending a Shattered Heart. These two books together worked wonders for me. From understanding to beginning to heal.

This book is really well written. I wish I had purchased this sooner on my journey to healing from my husbands addiction. It has a lot of concrete tools to help you navigate different emotions, issues, boundaries etc. Definitely recommend to any spouse dealing with this. And so sorry if you are ❤️

This is an actual workbook, complete with fill-in-the-blank charts and worksheets. It assigns exercises and asks questions designed to make you stop and think. These are accompanied by real-life stories which illustrate the points being made. The authors do a good job of breaking down the process we go through into component parts, and helping you focus on each part one by one so the entire process feels less overwhelming. However, it's not intended as a standalone resource. It's based on the assumption that readers are working with a therapist or a group session (neither of which are viable options for me) so it skips over some of the basic things I need to know. For example: "Give yourself the time you need to seek out information, get support, and process your story with others who are a safe support." But it offers no clue where to "get support" or find "others who are a safe support"! So I paired this book with "Your Sexually Addicted Spouse: How Partners Can Cope and Heal" by Steffens and Means. That book fills in some of the blanks left by this one on things like finding supportive people, and I'm still getting the benefit of the exercises here, which really do help me deal with my situation in a constructive way. This book is a valuable tool if you have other tools to use as well, and if you are prepared to actually do the exercises.

If you are a partner who has experienced this trauma recently or in the past, PLEASE don’t hesitate to purchase this workbook! I can’t even begin to explain how much I have healed and continue to heal after completing it; more importantly, I am on a whole NEW path towards self awarness, self love, and growth!It’s been almost 3 months since the full disclosure but 3 years of enduring the progressive disease of my boyfriend’s sex addiction. I used this workbook in combination with very little counseling, journaling, and other self care strategies. The accompanying exercises were absolutely effective, easy to do, and powerful in helping readers to reflect and move on through this journey of healing.Without this experience, I wouldn’t have learned the lessons I am using to shape my life for the better. I hope this book helps you as much as it did for me. Not only am I restoring myself but I’m less focused on him and instead more focused on self care, my own emotional attunement and asserting boundaries.I am committed to breaking the mental chains of my emotional wounds and the prison of cognitive distortions so that I can finally live unapologetically for and as me! I truly believe the same is in store for you. It may just start here.

Really good read.I got it couple days ago and I’m about halfway through it.The exercises in it really help. It’s the next best thing to attending actual therapy.Just found out a couple weeks ago I am involved with a sex addcit and this book is really helping me keep my feelings in check about it.

Amazing workbook!!! It helps you dig deep and see things clearer. Highly highly recommend if able to work with therapist/group/a friend/ family or even solo. To get the most of the workbook would be better with someone but great workbook either way.

My students remain captivated by Howard! They love listening to his books and the different topics.

This book is especially great for use in schools because it emphasizes the importance of kids being brave and letting a teacher or another adult know that they are being bullied. It also paints a clear picture of bullying-that bullying is repeated over time and involves a power imbalance of some kind. This helps young children in particular understand the difference between a situation they might be able to handle on their own and when they need to tell an adult. Of the three books I ordered today this was the ONLY one for a child being bullied that was remotely sound. The only one I'm keeping.
